How to start a new Zoom meeting
Use this guide to start a new meeting in Zoom.

The instructions below will walk you through the process of starting a new Zoom meeting, but if you encounter any issues, please create a Helpdesk ticket for further assistance.
Starting a new a meeting from your phone:
- Call one of the Zoom International Dial-in Numbers:
- US: (669) 900-6833
- US: (646) 876-9923
- Additional Countries/Regions: https://ucdavis.zoom.us/zoomconference
- Enter your Personal Meeting ID followed by #
- If you do not know your Personal Meeting ID, follow the steps outlined in How to obtain your Zoom Instant Meeting details.
- Enter your Host Key followed by #
- If you do not know your Host Key, follow the steps outlined in How to obtain your Zoom Instant Meeting details.
- You do not need to enter a Participant ID, just press #
Starting a new meeting from your computer:
- Navigate to https://ucdavis.zoom.us
- Click the Host button
- If you are not already signed in, enter your full @ucdavis.edu email address and password, then click Sign in
- If you are prompted by your browser to open the Zoom app, click OK
- Once the Zoom app loads, use the Invite Others button to invite the participants to join the meeting
- You can switch between Contacts, Zoom Rooms, and Email along the top of the Invite Others window
- Along the bottom of the meeting window, you can turn on/off your microphone and camera as desired
